Counselors Madrichim
Our counselors work with and alongside campers to ensure that educational and fun-filled summer is had by all.  They lead by example, encouraging the interests and creativity of each camper and building a close community of friendship and respect. It’s not uncommon to see counselors—if not all of our staff—with older and younger campers playing and laughing side by side, eating meals together, or deep in discussion. Our camper-to-counselor ratio is never greater than five-to-one. Counselors sleep in cabins with campers, providing supervision and ensuring safety and security. Back to top

Specialists
Na’aleh also has specialists, some of whom also serve as counselors. Our specialists bring training and hands-on experience in such areas as aquatics, nature study, arts & crafts, dance, and sports.  Back to top

Pool Staff
Camp Na’aleh has one or more certified water safety instructors as well as  staff with advanced life saving certifications.   Our waterfront and pool staff are trained and certified by the American Red Cross. Back to top

Medical Staff
Camp Na’aleh has a New York-certified registered nurse or doctor on site at all hours. When necessary, we also consult with local physicians and have ready access to nearby hospitals in cases of emergency.  Our medical staff will handle both the daily medical requirements of our campers (and staff), such as the disbursement of regular medications and at-the-moment medical needs of the camp. Food Service Staff
Each summer former campers and hired professionals work together to prepare meals and keep our dining facility clean, healthy and safe. We select experienced kitchen staff who meet New York state requirements for food handling.  Most important to us is their desire to provide healthy kosher meals for our campers as well as adapt dishes to meet special eating requirements for campers and staff.  Our kitchen accommodates vegetarian, allergy-restricted, and medically-restricted diets. Technical Staff
Na’aleh also relies on the hard work and experience of additional technical staff, such as our driver, dining hall manager, and maintenance person.  These individuals are selected for their technical skill, organization, and attention to detail and safety. Back to top
